Clair Tappaan Lodge is one of the most unique and affordable outdoor wedding venues in the Truckee-Tahoe area. Our historic lodge provides an elegant, wilderness setting on the Sierra Crest. With reception space for up to 175 guests, overnight accommodations for up to 140 guests, a professional Chef, and a cheerful staff, Clair Tappaan is the ideal location for your special day.
Holding Your Wedding at Clair Tappaan Lodge
Thanks for your interest in booking your wedding at Clair Tappaan Lodge! Below is some basic information to help guide you through the process of booking an event with us. Please call us at (530) 426-3632 or contact us for updated availability. We prefer to book 2 night events with a maximum of 140 in-house guests and 170 wedding guests. (Dependent upon gathering limitations by the state of California & Nevada County Covid 19 guidelines).
We book weddings up to 18 months ahead of time, and require the following items to secure a date on the calendar:
25% deposit
A signed contract
2024 Wedding Rates
Facility Fee for Weekend Booking: $12,000
Includes:
Exclusive use of Clair Tappaan Lodge
Plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and silverware
Trash pick-up and disposal, recycling, and maintenance of grounds for your event
Food & Beverage Rates: $5,000 minimum
4 meals, beginning with dinner on the night of arrival and ending with brunch on the day of departure
A service charge of 20% and applicable taxes will be added to all sales
Reception and/or rehearsal dinner (Meals are priced per guest and are selected from our menu or approved by our Chef, and include a tasting session)
Accommodations
Clair Tappaan Lodge offers rustic, bunk-style accommodations with twin-sized beds and communal bathrooms. Room types include large dormitories, private family rooms that sleep between 5-10 people, and private 2-person rooms.
Food Service
Our professional chef and kitchen staff will work with you to craft a meal plan for you and your guests that fit your taste and budget. Special event meals, such as reception dinners, may need to be contracted out, depending on preferences and event size. (We have a list of several local vendors that we love!)
Tastings
Our chef would be happy to schedule a menu tasting for the wedding party. Tastings are scheduled once a contract and deposit are on file. Any guests attending the tasting (beyond the wedding couple and their parents) will be charged a small additional fee.

Cancellations
Once a signed contract is on file with insurance and deposit, Clair Tappaan Lodge will maintain availability for your event in good faith. Should you need to cancel or change your date, contact us as soon as posibble. Your group will be financially liable for the cost of the minimum booking if we cannot re-book your reserved date.
