Living Room
With a rich wooden interior, vaulted ceilings, and an enormous fireplace, the Lewis Clark Room offers an inviting atmosphere for guests to make new friends, play games, or simply unwind after a long day in the great outdoors.
Library
Featuring hundreds of books, hand-picked by our guests over the course of 80 years, our Library is truly unique. Relax and enjoy a good book, learn about the history of the Lodge, or warm your toes by the fire.
Hot Tub
Considered by some to be the crown jewel of the Lodge, our six-person hot tub is incredibly relaxing. For an extraordinary experience, open the wooden shutters and soak-in the fresh air while watching the sunset.
Rental Shop
Cross-country skis, snowshoes, poles, boots, and sleds are available for rent downstairs in our Rental & Demo Center. (Conditions Permitting. Please call ahead for large groups). Open: 9AM – 5PM
Game Room
Whether your game is ping pong or foosball, board games, or poker, our Game Room offers entertainment for the entire family.
Guest Lockers
Lockers are located in the shared dorm rooms for guests to secure personal items like clothes, luggage, and electronics. Guests planning to use our lockers should bring their own padlocks, otherwise we can rent you one at the front desk.
Free Laundry
An onsite laundry room is available to guests 24/7 and comes stocked with free detergent.
Groomed XC Ski Trails
Clair Tappaan Lodge guests as well as the general public can enjoy up to 14 km of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding on our groomed winter trail system. Trail passes for non-guests are $15 per person, per day. (Weather Permitting, Please call ahead)
Demo Center
As an added bonus, our guests have the opportunity to demo a variety of complimentary outdoor gear at the Sierra Magazine Demo Center. Try out gear such as Lowa hiking boots and Leki poles.
Lounge
Kick back and relax downstairs in our comfortable guest lounge. Refrigerators, microwaves, and toasters are available to guests for easy-to-prepare meals.
Campfire Ring
Seeking a rustic atmosphere for telling stories and roasting marshmallows? Our outdoor fire rings are available to guests during the summer and winter and are stocked with firewood. Inquire with front desk for information about availability and current conditions.
Gift Shop
Forget something important at home? Looking for a souvenir to celebrate all the fun you had at Clair Tappaan? Our gift shop offers a wonderful assortment of travel necessities, outdoor gear, souvenirs, and t-shirts and sweatshirts. Purchase any of these great gifts at our front office.

Wireless internet is provided throughout the Lodge and is free of charge to our guests.
